Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the very best in our bespoke awards and trophies. In today’s blog we dive into the bloody world of Mortal Kombat and showcase our Mortal Kombat 11 medallion.

1992 was an interesting year for many reasons. Mobster ‘Teflon Don’ John Gotti was finally imprisoned. Mcdonald's opened in China. The French protested fuel prices by blocking major motorways across the country (Zut Alors!) and, in the video game world, Mortal Kombat in all its gory goodness was released. With three sequels in as many years, Mortal Kombat stunned gamers with its violent nature, interesting characters and dedicated story-lines. Since the release of the original games MK has became one of the highest grossing media franchises, spawning films, comic books, card games, a live action tour and over 11 main series games and countless spin offs.

Nearly 30 years in the making, 2019 sees Mortal Kombat once again capture players’ imaginations with the latest instalment in the beloved franchise. Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment the 11th instalment in the popular series sees fan favourites return and new characters enter the fray.

To celebrate the launch of the game in the UK Creative Awards London were tasked with creating an item that would be given to players at the launch event. Drawing inspiration from the iconic dragon motive of the games we created a gold plated medallion that would proudly be worn around the neck of the winner. Crafted from a single piece of metal, the medallion is the ideal way to say ‘Finish Him!’ to the winner.
