Design Inspiration
Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we showcase the very best in our bespoke awards and trophies. This week, with inspiration, always an important topic, we celebrate some of the finely designed works we have produced recently. As the UK continues to move forward with reopening a new sense of excitement is palpable at Creative Awards London and, inspired by the promise of an ever-so slightly more normal routine, we turn to five of our iconic and beautifully designed awards to inspire you with.
A result of over two years of research and development, the Wood Fusion Award is a modern and inspiring design. Fusing the concept of the mechanical with the natural, the award features encapsulated wood in optically clear acrylic Perspex. Designed as a twist on a traditional column award, this custom made design showcases the natural imperfections and tonal varieties of the premium wood within the body of the trophy.
Continuing with our mastery of acrylic Perspex, our financial tombstones have pushed the boundaries of aesthetics and design. The Acrylic Oil Drum Award, commissioned for a leading oil and gas corporation, features crude oil expertly encapsulated within the body of the award. The thick, brown liquid stands alone in the drum shaped body of the award that was hand finished and engraved with details of the recipient and company that commissioned the piece.
Sometimes simplicity is the best option and none more so than with the Acrylic H Award. As the name suggests, the body of the award is an Acrylic H made from thick, black Perspex. The tactile and weighty award stands proudly with the italicised h leaning across the custom made, golden stand. Delightfully simple and visually impressive the Acrylic H Award is effortlessly cool.
Angular lines inspired by the lines of fighter jets feature in our minimalist Aviation Award. Custom made from aircraft grade aluminum and hand sprayed with a thick, matte black finish the award was commissioned by a leading component manufacturer in the aviation industry. Reflecting and inspired by precision engineering, this award was finished in silver along the lines of the body and the detailing on the ‘front of the wing’.
Inspired by street art and the crowns that feature on old skool graffiti, the Golden Crown Award is a lighthearted and fun award. The modern award features a custom cut crown shape made from profiled satin finished gold aluminium featuring black acrylic Perspex backing - adding depth. To finish the award, an FSC approved wood base was laser engraved before the final assembly where the crown rests proudly on the organic base.
