Colour of the Year

Colour of the Year

Welcome back to the Creative Awards London blog where we bring you the very best in our bespoke awards and trophies.

As we head to the end of a successful 2018 we look forward to an exciting and busy 2019. For us, one of the indicators that the year is drawing to and end is always Pantone's announcement of the forthcoming year's colour of the year.

Famous for systematising colours and creating the Worldwide standard for colour, the brand hugely influences the up and coming trends for the year within design, fashion and interiors. The colour of the year has, since 2000, been a way to explore the impact that colour has on society and the subsequent thoughts and feelings that colour inspires within us.

The choice of the colour of the year for 2019 is called Living Coral. The bright and tropical colour has been said to be an “animating and life-affirming coral hue, with a golden undertone.” Whats more, the colour is present in many areas of technology and social media and pushes an idea of connectivity. It’s also meant to symbolise our human need for optimism and joyful endeavours, as well as the “desire for playful expression."

Below are a list of colours of the year since 2000.
